Tony Esponde makes beautiful things out of wood because it's relaxing. A California native, Tony graduated from Durham High School and is currently the head football coach at his alma mater.

He learned woodworking from his Italian father, and repurposes Claro Black Walnut and other hardwoods from a local cabinet shop into trays, cutting boards, and kitchen items of functional beauty.

Tony's work is designed to highlight the incredible grain patterns found in certain pieces of Claro Black Walnut, a dense hardwood prized for its marbled appearance.
